Leos Car Rentals - Terms & Conditions

Rental Period
- Rates apply per day (24 hours).A rental day is based on a 24 hours period, there is no provision for part day rentals in these rates, and therefore no discounts will be made for vehicles returned prior to the completion of a 24hour period.
- If the vehicle is returned more than 30 minutes late than the due back period, an extra day’s rental will be charged.
- Minimum hire period is THREE (3) days. If you wish to rent a vehicle for 1 0r 2 days you will be charged the rate of three days minimum.
Insurance

1. The rental quote includes Comprehensive cover although excess does apply.
2. The amount of excess depends on which vehicle you have rented and whether you have chosen to reduce the excess.
3. Leos Car Rental excess ranges from €500 - €3500 depending on the vehicle chosen.
4. An age restriction applies in Cyprus for drivers under 25 or over 65 years of age. Renter must be at least 25 years of age or holder of a valid driving licence for at least 3 years or under 65. A fee of €20 will be applicable for these drivers per rental per person, to allow them to drive by issuing a special insurance. Minimum age allowed is 21.

Mileage / Kilometres

1. Rates include unlimited mileage /kilometres.

Driving Licence

1. A valid driving licence held at least three (3) years must be produced at the time of hire
2. An additional proof of identity is required such as a passport or ID card.
3. No refunds will be given for rentals rejected due to non-production of a driving licence or non-disclosure of endorsements.

Fuel

- The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be paid at the time of delivery. Fuel is non refundable.
- The hirer is responsible for ensuring the correct fuel is used.
- If the wrong fuel is used the hirer is liable for all costs including recovery and repair. 
Additional Drivers

1. Two (2) additional drivers may be added to the rental agreement at the cost €4 per driver per day provided that the additional named driver meets the above criteria, signs the rental agreement and produces the required documentation.

Payment

1. All rates are in EURO including 15% VAT.
2. Payment is accepted by credit card
3. A pre authorization will be taken as a security for the car. The pre-authorization is not executed, provided the vehicle is returned undamaged. The car rental cost, extras taken and fuel cost are payable at the start of the hire.

Accidents

1. All accidents must be reported immediately and a report form must be completed. Failure to do this may result in the insurance becoming invalid.

Parking Fees, Traffic Fines & other offences / fines

- Customers will be liable for any fines and court costs for parking, traffic or other offences (including any costs which arise if the vehicle is clamped or towed).

1. If these fines are not paid by the customer, a €25 administration charge per offence will apply.

Vehicle returns
- The hirer is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is returned to the agreed location.
- If Leos Car Rentals has agreed for the vehicle to be returned outside of office hours, the hirer will remain responsible for the vehicle and it's condition until it is re-inspected by a member of our staff.
- If Leos Car Rentals has agreed the vehicle may be returned to a non-Leos location, it is the hirer's responsibility to inform Leos Car Rentals that the vehicle is ready for collection and to park the car safely and legally until the vehicle is collected. 
- The hirer will remain responsible for the vehicle and it's condition until it is re-inspected by a member of our staff.
Driving Restrictions

- Drive on the: Left

Geographical Driving Restrictions:

1. Drivers are not permitted to drive to the north part of Cyprus.

Optional Extras

A range of optional extras such as child car seats or GPS are available, these should be requested at the time of booking.

Optional Extras

- GPS SAT NAV: €5.00 per Day, on request

- Additional Damage Waiver (A.D.W) - Insurance, CDW and/or Excess Waiver does not cover tyres, windscreen and oil sump. Liability to the above can be waived if A.D.W is acquired. A.D.W costs €10.00 per Day
Excess responsibility if you don’t buy C.D.W.

Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W)

By acquiring C.D.W, you can reduce the liability for the excess in the event of an accident.

A1, A2,  B,  €10.00 per Day (to reduce excess to €150 in the event of damage)

C, D €12.00 per Day (to reduce excess to €200 in the event of damage)

E, F1, F2, F3, F4, G1, G2, G3 €17.00 per Day (to reduce excess to €350 in the event of damage) 

F5, F6, G3,G4, G5, H1, H2, H3, H4, J1b, J2, €25.00 per Day (to reduce excess to €850 in the event of damage)

F7, G6, H5, J3, J4, J5, J6,  L, M1, M2 €30.00 per Day (to reduce excess to €1050 in the event of damage)

Excess Waiver

In addition to C.D.W, the liability for the excess amount can be reduced to zero if the renter purchases Excess Waiver for all vehicle groups, excluding groups F5, F6, F7, G3,G4, G5, G6, H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, J1, J2, J3, J4, J5, L, M1, M2. Beside the excess reduction, it also provides protection for theft of our vehicles up to the full value of the vehicle plus any additional cost that might incur.

Flight Information

It is essential for airport pickups that the correct flight number and arrival time be advised before the customer departs. In the event that this information is not available at the time of booking please be sure to advise ‘Leos Car Rentals’ at least 3 days prior to departure. Although ‘Leos Car Rentals’ will always do its utmost to ensure a car is available for the customer on arrival, no responsibility will be accepted or compensation offered for a failed rental due to the customer providing information late.

Upgrades

Customers may upgrade to another class of vehicle locally upon arrival. Upgrades are subject to availability and fees for upgrades will be determined locally at time of rental. Customers must pay all fees for upgrade locally..

Special Requests

Child Seats – are required by law for small children. Child seats should be requested at time of booking, all confirmed requests are guaranteed.

All special request items are to be paid for locally.

Rental Voucher

The rental voucher must be produced when collecting the rental car. ‘Leos Car Rentals’ is not responsible for lost or stolen vouchers. If a voucher is stolen it must be reported to the police and to ‘Leos Car Rentals’ immediately.

Number of Passengers

All cars are insured for a maximum number of passengers, information on the number of passengers a vehicle can carry is available at time of booking or locally when the car is collected. Should this number be exceeded, the customer’s insurance shall become invalid. The customer is responsible for ensuring the car they rent is of an adequate size for all passengers and luggage.

Provision of Cars

Local licensees can refuse to supply a vehicle should they in their reasonable opinion deem the driver to be in anyway unfit to drive the vehicle. In these cases your contract will be terminated immediately and no further compensation given.

Car Type/Suitability

Specific make and model of cars cannot be guaranteed; the cars appearing on vouchers are for guidance only and may be substituted locally for an alternative similar or upgraded car. The customer is responsible for ensuring the car group they rent is of an adequate size for all passengers and luggage.

Early Returns

Please note that there are no refunds given for vehicles returned before the specified return date/time as stated on the rental agreement.

Notes:

1)Deposit is non refundable once the order is placed

2)The renter shall not take the car or allow the same to be taken outside the area controlled by the government of the Republic of Cyprus . All the insurances exclude damage caused by driving on any loose surface roads . Any damage thus caused will be the client’s responsibility.
